Everyone can introduce themselves here. Let the group know who you are and what you're interested in.

Hey folks, good to meet you tonight! I'm David Wilkins and I've been building cra^H^H^Hstuff for a bunch of years.
I program for a living. Currently I'm doing LAMP stack development for learningearnings.com (Fedora/Apache/MySQL/PHP). I do it all, from writing the code, testing, deploying, monitoring, etc. I like Open Source
I started out doing real time weather radar for Enterprise Electronics Corp "back in the day" (1988-1990). I've done imaging, large databases, web development etc. I have never done Java, and don't plan to.
I've built various contraptions over the years. My first useful electronics project was a "Sync-On-Green" converter to make some old 19" monitors work with regular PC video. I've also built a couple of boats, a compost bio-reactor, solar collector, and various woodworking projects

Hi everyone. I'm Katie. I've been wanting to get together a community space for a few years. I like the idea of learning by working with others. After meeting everybody so far I feel really green, and that's awesome because it means I can learn a lot. What I have some experience with is analog circuits, fabric construction/sewing, and publishing (I use to run a zine distro called Hen House). I'm teaching myself python right now and working on building my first distortional pedal. I've also run a successful Kickstarter project ( ), know a little about fundraising, and could be helpful in a development capacity. Also, I help run the website www.diybirmingham.com which is a good outlet for promotion
