Good morning everyone! Wasn't at the last organizational meeting due to class load, but am surfacing to finish configuring the new website, www.redmountainmakers.org. Will be at the next one. Trae set up a wiki for our use, along with a basic WordPress site. For those who do (and don't) know, the WordPress structure is robust and extendable. I'm doing some basic configuration today. Question is, what do we need the website to do? We can handle new member sign-up, PayPal and credit card payments, blogging, video blogging, photo galleries, forums, member-only areas, different levels of member access, etc. It's a powerful communications tool, but as in all things, knowing our priorities of use will help me and Trae determine what needs to be added next. Could we add this to the agenda for the next organizational meeting? All the best, Shirley

Haha, I'm new around here, only just finding out about your efforts, but I must say I hate proboards. I've now registered for 3 new accounts, Meetup, Proboards, and our Wiki, and I have yet to register on the main website. This can be a brick wall for some casual interests, and a route to confusion (where is everyone talking?) for newbies. I am familiar with wordpress and have used bbpress bbpress.org/ a bit, and a friend showed me Mingle wordpress.org/extend/plugins/mingle-forum/. I would definitely like to see the Website comments share the user database with/from the Wiki and also an integrated forum. One login to rule them all. The Wiki/Wordpress integration may be tricky, but before the forum grows too much this should be addressed. All of this is a time effort of course, if I can help, you have my keyboard. Looking forward to this week's meetup.

Personally I would like to see all communication moved to a single outlet. We plan to keep the meetup and facebook, but if it is at all possible I would like to stop using proboards and the google groups page.
I agree that it is hard to determine where everyone is talking and I think all of the issues associated with the multiple outlets will be solved once the website is fully functioning. Redirects should also solve any confusion and migrate the conversation.
As far is where is everyone talking... questions asked in the meetup comments are the easiest to see currently, but proboards(shudder) does give the opportunity for more varied conversation. Hopefully we can have something similar with the website/wiki.
